Another good event this year. The day started off warm with Danny trailering his M151A2/M416
combination. I trailered my M38A1 and brought dad along for the
festivities. Jeff towed his MB. The High School parking
lot is an excellent resource for our trailers for this event. After
unloading and driving the mile or so, we hit the staging area and settled
in for the judges to arrive.
The judges started making their rounds and we had our vehicles lined
up. It was an impressive display representing all three war eras -
WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Several minutes later, they returned and
awarded us the red ribbon.
So, with our second place ribbon in hand, we meandered through the
wonderful parade waving and smiling, having our pictures taken so that
will be forever immortalized in shoebox's located in closets for an
eternity with our red ribbon flying proudly on Jeff's lead vehicle.
After the parade, we then headed over the Blacks BBQ for some tasty
chicken, ribs, sausage and a cold beer or tea. That's just the icing
on the cake for this fun little summer-time parade.
