Event: Boy Scouts Report to State Parade
Date: 05-Feb-2000
Location: Austin Texas
Description: This was my second year to attend this parade. My
good friend Tim and his wife Trish asked if we (the Lone Star Chapter of the
MVPA) would kindly help his den of Cub
and Tiger Cubs with transportation. Of course, any time we have the
opportunity to get the mil-vehs out we do!

Here's an early morning shot
of the jeep and trailer just before it was loaded with Cub and Tiger Cub
scouts from Pack 395 in Austin. The kids just love riding in the
jeep with the 'gun'! |

Myself and Trish (Tims) wife
with a dozen or so scouts in the staging area on the Congress Ave
bridge. On a side note, the bridge is home to the largest colony
of Mexican free-tail bats in the world. Each evening from Spring
through Fall the millions of bats depart on a feeding run through the
Texas hill country. |

Another shot of the
jeep. It was a bit chilly for this parade. Texas weather
could be 30 degrees for the February parade, 90 degrees or somewhere
between! |

Timmy (Trish and Tims son)
mans the Browning .30cal for a shot at the cameraman. |
