Event: SFX Entertainment / Wrenchead.com Monster Truck Jam
Date: 13-Jan-01
Location: San Antonio, Alamodome
Description: After taking a year off from this event, the club participated for the third year.  It was not the best day for arriving at the Alamodome due to the heavy mist and fog mixed with light rain.  However, John K and his friend managed to trailer his '45 MB from Austin and I my '53 M38A1 from Austin as well.  Ray V drove his M151 to the Alamodome and former club member Houston W drove his '54 Dodge Power Wagon.

We all arrived about 8:00am and went through registration at 9:00am where we received our All Access wristbands.  We then moved the vehicles to a covered area and wiped them down and waited, and waited, and waited for staging instructions.  Around 11:00am as tradition dictates, we headed over to Bill Miller BBQ for lunch. At this point, Ray decided he was too cold and wet and left for home.  Around 1:30pm, we were staged inside the Alamodome for the pit party that was held from 2:00 to 5:00.  With the 3 vehicles, we all must have signed 250 autographs each not to mention the many pictures that were taken with kids in the vehicles.  We will all be immortalized in shoeboxes around the world forever!  Danny K made it in to the pit party from Austin via Ft. Hood where he had attended a Korean War event meeting for the club at a later date.

At 5:00pm, the pit party was over, the crowds left the Alamodome floor and headed towards their seats.  We moved our vehicles outside and secured them for the show then headed to our seats.  The show was quite fun for everyone.  Ray even showed back up again with some friends.  There were ATV races, remote control car demonstrations, sand drags, lawnmower drags and the monster trucks.

Around 10:30, the show concluded and we all made our way to the trailers/vehicles for the foggy/misty drive home.
