Burnet Air Show |
Date: |
14-Apr-01 |
Location: |
Burnet, TX |
Description: |
The annual Burnet air show was held on a fantastic Saturday.
Our club had many members and vehicles show up including Toby C and his
'42 MB, Danny K in Vietnam period correct uniform and his '70 M151A2 and
M416 trailer, me in Korean period correct flight uniform and his '53 M38A1
and M416 trailer, Jeff McD in period correct WWII uniform and his '4x MB
and John K in period correct WWII uniform and his '45 MB. Tim W also
made it in full period correct WWII uniform along with Barry F in his
Airborne 101st Airborne ensemble.
We set up our display area in the same spot as last year. The
Abraham's tank also showed up as well as a helicopter in our general area.
We "meeted and greeted" most of the morning and about noon set
up the bbq pit Danny brought. After that was good and hot, we all
cooked hot dogs and sausages and enjoyed cold beverages brought by Scott.
We also provided the helo pilots a sausage-wrap and the tank crew soda
waters as it was pretty warm.
Can't say any of us watched much of the air-show. We just hung
out in our vehicles or in the general area and had a really good time.
After two years, this event is a 'keeper'. |
