Event: Brent Mullins 2nd Annual Open House
Date: 17-Mar-01
Location: College Station, TX
Description: This was Brent's second annual Open House.  I missed last years event as I was at the Goliad parade.  However, this year I made the effort to attend.  I loaded up my jeep on the trailer and picked up my father-in-law and we headed to College Station, about 2 hours from Austin.  There, we unloaded the jeep and staged it with the other vehicles present.  There was one class for all vehicles and places 1-3 awarded plaques.  There were many very nice vehicles there and I didn't receive an award.  Oh well, lots of people (say 200) were on-hand to buy, sell and trade parts, stories etc.

Brent has a magnificent collection of vehicles, equipment and parts, parts parts.  Did I mention parts?  I spent some time touring his warehouses and you wouldn't' believe what's in them.  Metal pallet/baskets full to the brim of 1940's manufacture parts from Ford, Willys etc.  It truly was an experience to see his inventory.

Then there was the vehicles of his.  He is currently working on restoring two M24 Chaffee light tanks.  He had his M4 Stewart?, M29 Hellcat and High Speed Tractor out for display.  BEAUTIFUL!  Both inside and out.  These are probably the finest pcs of military equipment around.  Then there were the other projects and donor vehicles scattered throughout.

He put on a really nice event with catering BBQ, porta-potties and large tents for the people who brought items to sell.  We had about 12 members from our club show up.  General Patton even made an appearance and gave his speech to the troops!  Two others brought vehicles as well.  Overall, glad we attended this one!
