Hello, I am trying to find out more information on a gloss black M38A1 that my Dad drove in Korea. He says he drove a bird colonel around in it. It had a special raised seat on the passenger side and a large red light on the fender. He would occasionally drive a General in it and would expose a single star on the bumper at that time. He doesn't remember ever seeing another black jeep while he was there during the end of the war. It was part of the 2nd Inf. Div. Artillery HQ. Any thoughts as to what it was. If we could read a number on the hood it is it possible to track where it went from there???? Thanks. Dave Brown.
